Francis found The Eczema Circle through Eczema UK, and now helps make it the welcoming community he wished he had growing up.
I have lived with eczema since I was born, so I know first-hand how much it can affect everyday life. Over the years I have tried numerous steroid creams and moisturisers, and some more unusual treatments when I was younger, including bleach baths. Like many people with eczema, I grew up constantly experimenting, and living with its physical and emotional toll.
I first got involved through someone at Eczema UK. What drew me in was meeting people who genuinely understood. Eczema can be incredibly isolating, and having somewhere to speak openly and support one another has been enormously valuable to me. I now run our regular support sessions and really enjoy creating a space where everyone feels comfortable contributing.
My background is in operations, commercial analysis and data, and as Treasurer I want our funding managed responsibly.
I want The Eczema Circle to be the community I would have benefited from growing up: welcoming, practical and built around people who truly understand what living with eczema is like.
